In our art department, our photographers find competent contacts and are provided with first-hand information.
As a mauritius photographer, you are supplied with topic lists of pictorial material that we are lacking and individual hints for planned projects. Topics for production are developed and specific motifs are discussed.
Upon request we are pleased to provide feedback about your photographs and evaluate sales potential.
All submitted pictures are registered. You get a confirmation for motifs we keep. From receipt of the pictorial material until its return, the art department accompanies every photograph.
Money and more: sales reports and settlement
The sales report lists all utilizations of the pictorial material (including layout) specifying number and type of utilization with the respective gross proceeds and the photographer’s share. A bank transfer is effected at the time when the sales report is mailed. Settlement is made monthly or quarterly.
The sales report lists the following items:
- Our picture number
- Your picture number
- Picture description
- Customer’s invoice number
- Information about utilization, including digital transfer, resolution quality (preview or high resolution) and type of utilization
- Overall proceeds
- Photographer’s share
An integral part of every picture: the model release
Photographs depicting identifiable persons always require a model release. As a professional photographer you insist on the receipt of model releases prior to any new production. Said release must include the general utilization of the photographs in the advertising and editorial fields without any local or temporal restrictions. Top technical standards: what we expect from your pictures
We accept only technically perfect material of flawless quality. We distribute diapositives (color and black/white) as well as online picture data. All common formats are welcome and accepted. The larger the format the better the chances of it selling. This is what our experience tells us.
The photographer of our dreams
We are looking for professionals who work with state-of-the-art technology and whose photos speak a modern pictorial language. Your works are your unique signature.
The selected models and chosen locations are in tune. You take new paths. And you take the risk of dealing with topics that have not yet been treated in a new and independent manner. Your courage is frequently rewarded by interesting sales success.
Following the initial contact: cooperation
Cooperation is governed by our photographer contract. We would be glad to send you a sample contract upon request.
In the following you will find some excerpts from the contract:
- You will grant mauritius worldwide marketing and utilization rights.
- The contract refers to the motifs you choose to submit, not to your overall body of work.
- Originals will remain your property.
- The pictorial material must be free from any third party rights. -- It must be possible to use the material for editing and advertising purposes without any temporal limitation.
- We can only accept human subject material with an accompanying model release.
- The pictures can be used in a manner that differs from the original version.
- Identical or similar motifs shall not be provided to other picture agencies.
