Solvin Zankl is a marine biologist and has worked as a full-time nature photographer since 1998. In his photo reports, he incorporates both his scientific background and his sense of aesthetics. On site, he takes a lot of time to absorb the environment and to understand the behaviour of the animals. No matter whether it is an exotic topic or the motifs are virtually found on the doorstep in local treetops. Thanks to this calm and very concentrated approach and the use of different focal lengths as well as to somewhat, even specially developed techniques, he manages to give his motifs not only special perspectives but also an emotional level. Solvin's work has won many international awards and is regularly featured in leading magazines worldwide, including GEO, Stern, National Geographic Magazine and BBC Wildlife.
