Christina Czybik gained professional experience in photojournalism as a senior picture editor in Hamburg and Los Angeles. Hamburg-born she now works as a freelance travel and documentary photographer from her hometown. Christina Czybik visited numerous destinations worldwide, such as Fiji or Vanuatu, a small South Pacific country. In 2015 the success of her work brought Christina to China, where she was honoured by UNESCO and the China Folklore Photographic Association with the “Humanity Photo Award” in the category "Portrait & Costume" for her photo reportages about the Small Nambas in Vanuatu. With unexpected perspectives and with a certain look for details, Christina Czybik tells of the subtleties of urban life by combining compelling colours of natural or artificial lights with fog, haze or simply rain clouds.
