Born and raised as the son of a mountaineer in Innsbruck, Tyrol (Austria), the mountains and their recreational opportunities were always present in the life of Klaus Kranebitter. After finishing school, the passionate climber financed his own mountain guide training with various jobs as a camera assistant, where he was often assigned to television productions on the mountains due to his affinity for rough terrain. After completing his mountain guide training, Klaus travelled the world and eventually got stuck in Canada, where he worked for five years as a heli ski guide and started his career as a professional photographer. As a photographer on the mountain, he accompanied some of the most breathtaking mountaineering athletes on their travels around the world. Klaus Kranebitter's photographic focus is on mountain sports, travel and landscape. However, he also likes to devote himself to "conceptless" photography and quite simply photographs what catches his eye.
